Paul Hamilton’s very occasional solo trips to the dark side of the sun.
‘Nightlights (STP)‘ was a duet for piano and explosions that took on a darker hue with the mass murders in Paris on 13th November 2015.
By contrast, ‘By The Light Of A Thousand Beards A-Blazing‘ is a silly piece of tomfoolery featuring gongs, an instrument Hamilton finds hilarious for 7½ reasons.
‘Julie‘ was written in 1978 by a 14-year-old Gary Page and originally recorded (on a Waltham cassette recorder that went KER-DONK! when you pressed the finger-breaking ‘Play’ and ‘Record’ buttons in unison) by him on one-string guitar and Wheeze-o-matic vocal and Hamilton on pots’n’pans and backing screams. It’s been re-made, partly as a sentimental salute to his fine old chum (a.k.a. Sir Harry Flames), and partly in order to destroy your mind.
