‘Bluebell Wood’, a song from Murphy & Hamilton‘s ‘Nope Unintended’ E.P., has been given the video treatment. (You’ve heard of videos, have you? Apparently, it’s the new craze. You heard it here first!) Arboreally-bent fans of The Beatle will be hoop-cocked to discover that M & H’s filmette was shot using an actual Norwegian wood. Isn’t it good? Yes, it is. And it is over here on Vimeo.
Meanwhile, on the other side of what Don Van Vliet called God’s Golfball, This Little Badge have been shaking the denim-draped denizens of New Zealand out of their dotcomplacency. From their ‘gig’ at The Bridge Tavern, Waitara on the 24th of June, see, hear and feel them thunder eloquently through two Dave Pope/Paul Hamilton songs, a newly-minted ‘Meet Me At The Bridge’ and their Horrible Head unknown classic ‘Pretend’. There is also a black-and-white re-edit of ‘Pretend’ lurking about on Vimeo for all you monochrome militants out there.
On a financial note: Despite the British pound falling faster than a farceur’s trousers, following the recent referendum result that has catapulted the UK out of the EU, Smoking Ant Records are stoically retaining the prices on our goods at both our shop and on Bandcamp. Strap spoons to your lobes and feast your ears on our misfortune.
